2.3 cam options

Ive got a 2.3 liter powered rat rod that I want to get more performance out of. The motor is a rebuilt long block with a 4 plug round port head. Im thinking a performance cam might be the ticket but I have no clue what im looking for. I dont drag race it just looking for more exceleration. Ive looked at a few vender sites and its lift and duration??? I really dont know what to order. Can anyone school me on cams?

call esslingers and ask them they will tell you exactally what cam to use or call comp cams, tell them what you have and what you are looking for in acam, they will probably ask you if fuel injected, roller cam or flat, what kind of trans and rear end gears and weight of vehicle. any time you are going to do cam work these are important things to know. you can also get a adjustable cam gear from esslingers and then time your cam and then go from there till you find where your cam works best. good luck

go to www.racerwalsh.com thats where i got my cam for my truck. i got a 88 2.3 fuel injected with the stage 1 racerwalsh hyd roller.
