Ouch...no wonder there are so many head injuries in North America...

Whenever I see something like that it reminds me of the times I went to meetings for caregivers of brain injuried relatives...it was pretty scary...

One woman, who was no more than 40, left the first meeting in tears...her husband was driving when someone ran a light and T-boned his truck...only after two or three years of rehab was he able to return to some sense of "normal" living...but he lost a good chunk of his short-term memory and that was what was partially causing his wife's frustration...he no longer could remember things he said and had a violent temper at times that he did not have prior to the head injury...

Since being involved with a brain injured person as a caregiver, I realize how seat belts, front and side air bags, and driving defensively can help reduce injuries...

well I've been in two roll overs one was just a flop onto the passenger side in a '88 ranger (10MPH) was wearing seat belt buddy had to kick in winshield to cut seatbelt off me it wouldn't come undone. second was '92 ranger (50MPH) rolled twice I was also wearing seat belt it came afterwards but the belt burised the shit out of me had burises for two weeks. And FYI I wasn't driving either time. roll overs suck and for months after ward every time I was going into a sharp turn it would freak me out.
