So i traded my banshee for an 86 mustang 5.0:icon_bounceblue:, car is in rough shape but the motor is good. Planning on swapping it into the ranger, but what I need to know is if the 5.0L will bolt up to my 5 speed manual. Or what i'll need to make this happen.
My truck already has a 3" body lift so clearence shouldn't be an issue, thanks.

If you are wondering if you can use the stock tranny out of your ranger the answer is no.

You have to do some reading on what tranny will work for you. Is your truck 2 or 4wd?

Yah i kinda thought the stock tranny wouldn't work, truck is a 1991 ranger ext. cab 4wd with a 4.0L in it now. So i'd think if I can't use the stock tranny, I can't use the T-case either?

it depends on what trans you use. if you use a c-4, c-5 thingey you have to use the stock t-case shifter.

Any way to stick in a manual tranny, rather than an auto? The car came with a manual tranny which the t-case problably wont bolt up to would it?

the trans that car came with is a BW t-5, advance adapters USED to have an adapter for them but it parts they used in the kit were discontinued so their kit was discontinued as well. if you want a manual trans you will need to find something from a full size ford and use the t-case also.

Seems to me like you could use the 4wd version of the M5ODR2 in place of the M5ODR1 The R2 is the V8 version of the R1.
