swapping the 2.5 for a duratec 2.5

hy guys, does the new escape 2.5 duratec engine fit the ranger?? i saw it has a a 2.5 duratec rated like at 170hp, it would be cool to have that engine in my 99, replacing the ohv 2.5, can this be done?, or at least anyone had this idea lol!!

Pretty sure the escape is FWD, other than that I have no idea... I don't see a reason though...

yeah its FWD, and i dont know about the exhaust/intake distribution, i think they came in the same side
but the newer the more complicated the ecu gets too so its gonna be kind of tricky to make it work, since the escape is auto
maybe someone else....

maybe get an edge or 4wd frame for a ranger 98+ and remove the differential upfront and hook the transaxle to the front knuckles somehow. and if Awd find an axle matching the donor rigs axle ratio
