What goes out of alignment after a torsion bar lift and is it something that can be adjusted without taking it into a shop?

a torsion bar lift will push the camber out of whack. the top of the tire will tend to lean out more than it should. I don't remember if this is positive or negative but thats the trend.
Additionally, its possible that toe will be messed up also.
Toe is the big one on tire wear since if the tires aren't pointed the same direction, you are grinding them off against the road.
you can get a decent check of toe if you have a helper and two long straight edges and a tapemeasure.
That said though I would probably get it aligned. I know a good shop local that only charges 30 bucks so I've been getting alignments more often. tires are 500 or more so 30 bucks worth of damage adds up quickly.

I used to have a Jeep Wrangler and setting the toe was pretty easy. I just wasn't sure what else would be off.

Camber is the main one that gets pushed out of whack with a TT.
