hey everyone,

new here, looking for help!
I have a 93 splash 2.3 it wont start. I have fuel and pressure at my fuel rail
I have spark while cranking on driverside only. I dont understand I have fuel and spark why wont it start. Had this baby for alot of years never had any trouble I couldnt handle till now. Just died in the middle of traffic and that was it towed it home started checking things out and here I am fuel spark no start?

If you're sure that you've got fuel and spark, check the timing belt next. Pull back the plastic cover, or the rubber grommet on the back side, and see if the cam sprocket turns while cranking. If not, the belt broke. If it does turn, pull the cover back enough to check the timing marks for a jumped belt. And welcome to TRS, too.

hey,
thanks for the help. my belt is not broke but it wont turn. I can turn it by hand a little then when i crank it will turn for a minute then stop. if i keep moving it by hand i can get it to turn but as soon as i crank it it will stop again. Any ideas?

If the timing belt or the cam sprocket ain't turning while the crank is turning, that's a problem. Sounds like your belt may have lost some of the ribs (rounded teeth to mesh with the sprockets) on the inner side. You might want to pull that timing belt cover to see what's going on.

timing belt

thanks!
I am going to go ahead and pull the timing belt. Maybe its just worn out
and needs replaced it does have alot of miles on it. Thanks for your advice ill post my results when im done.

Good luck, and would like to know how it turns out. If needed, do a search here on TRS for posts for tips on replacing that belt, or just holler.
