I'd go with the FX4, though I don't know if it's a better deal.

2 yrs newer and with 45k fewer miles for only $1500 more?
This would be an easy decision for me. The '06 may even still be under factory warranty so it would be as close to a No Fear purchase as a used car could be.
If both are 4.0, get the '06 for $15k instead of the '04 FX4 for $13500.
That's not a Level II so it's not even that much of a boost over the other 4x4.
Besides, you can always add the FX4 stickers from eBay

I would look around they both seem a little high to me I was tring to sell mine 3 years ago for $12000 and kept it cause knowone would give me that. They were only getting like $13500 on the local lots for them used. People kept giving me the BS line that I was asking to much for just a Ranger..
