I know if you put Explorer rear springs on a Ranger you get a lift, so if I were to put Ranger springs on an Explorer would I get a drop? The reason I ask is I am looking for rear springs to give about 2-3" lift in the rear of my Explorer. I am considering 4" Ranger springs, since I haven't been able to locate Explorer spring with the lift I want (plus I would like a more lightly sprung rear for better flex).

Thanks

The Ranger springs are a softer spring than the Explorer springs. If you put Ranger springs on an Explorer, I would suspect they would be flatter.

Contact Alcan Springs and have them make you a custom set for your Explorer. They are really reasonable in their pricing.

That is what I am hoping for, but wanted to make sure I was correct.

Why not have Alcan make you a set? I posted a link to them in my first post.

I've thought of putting Ranger leafs SOA in an Explorer for a smaller lift than Ex springs, more like 3.5-4", but that sounds like more than what you want.

Ranger springs are too soft it'll bottom.

what you really want are longer u-bolts and some blocks.

Remember that an Explorer is spring under the axle
and blocks between the axle and the spring will lower
it without changing the spring rate.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I contacted Alcan, and they are only marginally more than the Ranger springs, so I will be getting custom 2" springs.
