I was wondering if bad drum brakes have the power to bend/warp an axle shaft. I ask this because I have a confirmed wobble on my rear left wheel and I have not been in any accidents nor do I ever remember hitting any curbs, so I don't understand how this damage happened.

As far as I know, no, it can't. I would double check to see that the wheel is mounted correctly and loose. In case you don't know, tighten your lug nuts in a star pattern, opposite from the nut you tighten. Try that and see. You might have overloaded your truck at one time or another, or a previous owner, causing an axle to bend

how about a pot hole

I baby my truck alot, the heaviest load ever might be 3/4 full bed of soil. So I'm starting to wonder if I drove through a big pot hole once without paying attention. this is the best idea I can come up with.

axle shafts are not all that hard to bend, so stop trying to figuire it out
and just get the parts to fix the problem and fix it.

I personally check mine a couple times a year by putting the rear up
on jackstands and letting the truck idle in 5th

I haven't bent one... recently...

I'm worried it's the brakes

I noticed that the drum brakes on that side with the wobble only one caliper seems to be pushing out. So I'm wondering if this pressure on one side of the drum is warping up the shaft? what do you guys think?

I'll take it in to the shop tomorrow

but how about the drum brakes? Only one brake pad seems to be pushing out when I take off the drums but I'm obviously not putting alot of force so I don't know what to think.

If you can only get one side of the brake cylinder to move it's probably rusted inside and frozen, you need to replace that wheel cylinder, but that cannot bend the shaft.

It takes an impact to bend the shaft, so it's reasonable to presume it suffered an impact.

If it's bent it needs to be replaced.
