88' Ranger 2.3 has no spark

All three of my trucks are currently out of order, my 66' f100 is still in a million peices in the garage (havent had any time to work on it in about three weeks ), the f250 is overheating and need a new water pump, and the ranger has no spark.......

For the last couple of weeks i have been working on replacing the rear main seal in the ranger. Took the transmission, clutch and flywheel out, replaced the seal and put it all back together. I took this time to also replace the plugs and wires. BEFORE i took it appart it ran fine, aside from the oil waterfall comming from the bottom of the truck. Once it was all together i rolled it off the ramps and tried to turn it over, no luck, so i put a screw driver across the starter selinoid and deturmaned that it was bad, replaced it now it turns over. I crank it over and it does not fire, i smell gas and there is alittle on #1 plug so its getting fuel. i pull #1 spark plug to see if it is sparking, no dice, so i start to check electrical connections and as far as i can tell nothing is unplugged, next i replace the coil and still nothing..........

HELP!!! This ranger is kicking my a$$.
 
There should be an ignition module on the distributor, it's held on with a couple of screws, as with any electronic device they will work one day then not the next.
 
Yeah that TFI module is a good place to start along with the PIP circuit that goes with it.Also be very sure your engine ground wire that runs from the back of the motor and ties to one of the wiper motor mounts is nice and snug.Mine came loose a couple years ago and and I went all over this truck trying to find out why it was flooding out when I drove it.I even had it in to Ford twice and they couldnt figure it out.It was dumb luck one day I was under the hood checking connections when I bumped that ground wire with my hand and noticed it was loose.It was getting enough ground to fire but not get the voltage needed for full combustion.This was my daily driver and I drove this thing that way for 2 years buckin and coughing everywhere I went.
