4.0 explorer 130A alternator.

looking to replace stock 95A alt with a exploder 130A alt. according to autozoo's web site there was 2 4.0 engines offered in the explorer a sohc and ohv engine. the tech page says a 1996-1998 Explorer 4.0 will work. according to autozoo they are 2 different part #'s on the 130A alt. anyone know the difference in them? will either one work?

Look up a '96 - only the OHV 4.0 was available that year.
 
good deal that answered one of my questions.i now i got to make sure i got the right one. any know the diff in the sohc 130a alt and the ohv 130a alt.
 
The 4.0 SOHC alternators will work as well. All Ranger & Explorer 4.0's have the same alternator mounting and wiring configuration.
 
thanks mjonesjr. i got a good deal on one just wanted to make sure it would work. i thought i researched it enough before i bought one but i found out afterwards that in 97 they had the sohc and a ohv. glad to know that it will work.
