today my check engine light came on. and as i shifted into 3rd gear the motor strarts to studder like its out of fuel. if i put the clutch in and excelerate, it revs up fine . but as soon as i put it back into gear it acts up again. and some times if i shut the truck off. the prob goes away, but the check engine light stays on. the prob comes and goes and has been happening for a day now. please help

If you have a check engine light on, then it's a no-brainer. Pull the code(s)! 
When was the last tune up - particularly, spark plugs? At what RPM are you shifting into 3rd?
