Here is the deal. I have a 94 excab short bed 4x4 (125"wb) The main leaf on the drivers side is broken. I didnt notice this until the otherday, the dude i got it from was a lying no good... (I'll leave the rest for your imagination) He has the leaf welded together and welded to the second leaf.

I have a set of 91 2wd shortbed springs laying here, the only visable differance is they are a 5 leaf pack, where as the 4wd has the 3leaf packs.

Will the second gen springs directly bolt into the 3rd gen?

Obviously I'll gain some hieght with them as they have more leafs, but I can drop to a 2" block instead of the factory block if needed to level it out ( or use it as an excuse to lift the front)

Any reasons they wont botl in, such as width, and length? I havent had the time in daylight to measure them yet.

Im pretty sure they're the same, I haven't heard anything otherwise. I know the eye to eye measurement is 56", but I forget what the front eye to spring bolt measurement is. I think its in the Tech Library somewhere.

The springs will bolt in fine. The difference will be how much height you get (and their load carrying capacity).

Not concerned with how much I can tow. The thing has an a4ld after all. But I do hual the quad around, (thank god it has held up thus far) little stiffer in the rear couldnt hurt.

Looks like I have a weekend project on my hands now.
