smaller steering box for 1st gen

what smaller ps boxes will fit into a 1st gen ranger? my headers hit the box and i would like to have extra clearance for the uh..........ehhem....... 350 sbc. or is there something else i can do for this? :dunno:

Put a manual box it. That's the only bolt in box that's smaller than what you have now.

Then there is nothing smaller that will bolt right on that is available.

If you run out of ideas, I'd look to see what the modular and BBF people are doing to get around the issue...
