My truck is a '97 with a 2.3 and manual. I'm going to swap in a 5.0 HO and an AOD. I would like to swap in a steering column from an auto truck to retain the factory look inside the cab.
Questions and concerns, please answer any you can...
What years will work?
Is 2wd and 4x4 the same?
Any wiring issues?
Will an Explorer column work?
Is the shifter a cable or mechanical linkage?
Does the shift lever on the side of the factory automatic transmission point up or down?
If the new column doesn't come with a key, how hard is it to replace the lock tumbler with the one from my current column? (so the key still matches the door).
