Yes I'm serious. I have rebuilt everything except the motor and tranny. I would like to put something reliable in it. The Intake and exhaust are on the correct sides. Looks as though I have plenty of room. I also want to replace the Lucas (prince of darkness wiring). I have only found one site where a guy did a olds aluminum smallblock. Yes I know FIAT is short for Fix It Again Tony! So what do you think can I make it work, and Keep It Simple. Thanx blm, First time with a forum. Don't know if I pulled it off, I'm an old fart

If I can fit a 2.3 in an LJ, I'm sure you can fit one in a fiat. The two things I would worry about clearance wise, is the alternator hitting the hood, and the pan's relatationship with the front suspension.

I'm not too familiar with fiats, or I could give more advise.

I think you can make it work... Ive seen a blown 460 in a miata. After seeing that, I think pretty much anything can go.

If anyone with a 2.3 w/auto 83 84 vintage would maybe know the length of motor tranny combined. I haven't located one yet. I have plenty of room for the motor unsure about the tranny. would rather do auto, but could do std.

any opinions about the 2.8 w/auto???
