Hi, I just came back to the forums and I have question about the front suspension on my 98 Ranger Supercab, 2 wheel drive. I am getting the parts together since both lower ball joints have torn boots, along with one of the tie rod ends. Anyway, I am going to replace the upper ball joints as well and I see that some say you cannot replace the uppers that you have to replace the entire assembly. Yet when I check into the parts, I find replacement ball joints for the factory tubular arms as well as the whole assembly. Can these be replaced on the factory arms? I am wanting to put all new parts on with greasable parts since the factory doesn't do it anymore and my front is so dry and noisy from it. Thanks for any input and help..

yes they sell the balljoints alone, for reasons unknown. Once your tear into you will see that you cannot remove the balljoint from the control arm. There are also a few different assemblies out there, so pay attention to which one you get.
