Button on dash of 98 Ranger XLT

There is a button on the Dashboard of my 98 Ranger and i have no clue what it does. It has the symbol that resembles the highbeam icon. Anyone else have this that can tell me what it does? When i bought the truck it didnt come with the part of the manual that tells me about controls in the truck or anything.

im thinking mirror defrost maybe??
 
its the fog light button.
 
My dad said that too, so thats probably one of the better guesses.
 
Looks like a fog light button to me, too.

That's exactly what it does, with those two lil fog lights on the front. :icon_thumby:

Do the fog lights turn on when you flip your high beams on? My dads 08 F150 has fog lights that turn on when you flip the high beams if you don't already have them on. I don't have em on my ranger so I don't know.
 
I'm ALMOST positive my fogs go out on my '02 when you flip on the high beamers
 
Well I just went out and tried it. I turned my lights on then my high beams and the fog lights didnt turn on. but for -->

Turning your high beams on or flash-to-pass will automatically turn off your fogs, although there is a way to bypass that feature. (check out the tech library)

I'm talking about my dads 08 F150. If you dont pull the switch out for fog lights but you flip the high beams on, the fog lights turn off. When you switch back to low beams, the fog lights turn off. I was curious as to whether the rangers do the same thing.
