Hey,
I have a 06 ranger 4x4 4.0L with about 40,000km's. The truck has alot
of rake and by this I mean it seems like more than normal the front end sits really low and i only have a few inchs of wheel well clearance with he stock tires and the A arms are actually at a slight angle upwards. So I was thinking about Cranking my torsion Bars to help corrects this problem. I know that doing this can reduce overall travel and make the suspension wear prematurely, so the question I have is that could the reason for my truck sitting so low be that the torsion bars are too loose and cranking them could actually be beneficial to performance and would I be able to crank them more than normal? Also I dont know that the adjuster bolts are supposed to look like but they appear to be backed off alot.

Thanks, Mitch

I've done it on two Rangers and one Sport Trac, never had a problem. Just do it enough to level it and not max them out.

The adjuster bolts are located right below the tip of the torsion key. before you crank them, measure ur wheel clearance first so you no how much u can go or have gone. Also, be sure to leave at least a 1/4 of the backed off. Id only go 2in of life or maybe a little more. but yea, definetly get an alignment!
