Hey guys,

i was wondering if you guys could give me a hand with installing a sunpro tach. I found a grommet to run the green cable through the wall and got that connected to the distributor correctly. Now i have three wires left. The black ground wire i can figure out, but as far as connecting the positive and the dimmer wire, im up for suggestions. I dont have a wiring diagram or a test light, so if someone has done this already and could tell me what they did that would be great.

You should be able to use a meter to find a wire that ties into the instrument panel's lighting circuit. For 12v, just tie into the run power wire for the radio.

Have you considered just tossing in a cluster from an Explorer/Navajo that already has the tach? It's a drop-in swap that doesn't require an extra gauge on the dash. You can probably pick one up for about the same price as your Sunpro.
 
haha, i would agree with getting a cluster except i got it for free.

as far as the wires go, this is my first attempt at any wiring so im trying to find out which wires are the ones i need. Is the power wire from the radio red?
