94 ranger, 2.3. I am hooking up an aftermarket tach, and i tapped into the tan/yellow stripe wire [service connector] that is listed for the lead hook up. I start the truck, and the tach works, but the truck doesnt even get up to idle and it stalls itself out. it also set a service engine light. i disconnected the battery before i left this afternoon, and am going to start the truck up tomorrow to wee what happens. is there something that could have caused this? i unhook the lead, and the truck starts up and runs.
