I keep getting number 2 cylinder misfire code. I changed wires and plugs still no change only seems to come on when idling if that helps!

check compression on motor, if its low on cyl #2 then that could be the problem, if not that will at least eliminate that possibility.

I got a misfire cyl #1 that comes on. I have 115 compression on cyl 1 and 3, while others are at 150.
what confuses me is I never get code for cyl 3 even though its at the same as cyl 1.

Good luck, im curious as to what you find out about yours. I was thinking of tryin a screaming demon coil pack for better spark and switching from 87 to 89 or 92 octane, maybe get better combustion and hopefully, temporarily stop the cel for misfire. If it don't work, Ill throw it on a new motor im going to throw in there when money comes my way.

I am....

I am going to test compression & will let you know results how do I get injector checked?

you can use a multimeter and check its resistance in ohms. Im not sure what they are suppose to be at. other than that you would have to remove them and take it to a shop that cleans injectors and have them flow test it, and may as well get them cleaned if you do all that.

I recently had a misfire on #2 also then it was #4 I found a crack on the bottom of my coil pack, replaced that and still no change changed the plugs with no help there also the wires were just replaced about a month back and I decided the check the wires again and sure enough they were defective replaced them under store warranty and it fixed the problem, so I would check over ur wires again just a thought.

move wires around to see if problem follows the wire.

FYI, cylinder #2 is looking at the engine from the FRONT of the vehicle on the LEFT side, not sitting in the vehicle.

if you throw enough mud against the wall, some will stick.

shave between your eyebrows

that is why design engineers refer to driver/passenger not left/right.
that is why visual learners prefer a diagram.

Hey look! What I just said in a picture!:yahoo:

I know this. Not everyone does. Some people don't. I simply stated it the way I did so everyone understood. Not everyone on here is a technician bud. :icon_thumby:
