I'm looking to relocate my ECM in order to avoid having it hit the drink again. I was just hopin that someone out there has relocated thier ECM and has pics or details of where they relocated it to and what was involved. Any help would be much appreciated.

And my BII is an 89' with the ECM stock mounted behind the passeger kick panel.

there is enough slack in the cables to relocated it in behind the glove box, i just zap straped it to the heater duct up there, and made alonger ground wire for it, then i cut the glove box in half.

hope it helps
Kris

I noticed that behind the glove box might work. I just wasn't sure if i was going to have to cut my glovebox up.

I tied mine to the bottom of the glove box. Had to extend the ground wire.

look on ebay for an old rotunda breakout box. that will have direct fit connectors for the EEC4 and give you 3 foot of slack. I did this on my old explorer and saved the breakout for my next project

Here is where mine is.

Thanks for the info and the pics. I think i should be able to tackle this one now.

So, assuming my 94 explorer uses the same setup as the bII's, Just wondering where the ground wire connects to on the ecm? 'cause mine is not grounded, and I am having some issues, and I believe this is the 'cause.

You cut up a perfectly good glove box just for the ECM? :shok::icon_rofl:
