when i did the one on my parents ranger, the seal fell out when i touched it with a screwdriver....wonder if it was due for replacement..heh

you might try using a chisel and hammer to smack one side of the seal...sometimes they will "teeter totter" out...or at least deform enough that you can get a screwdriver behind to pry them out.

hey did you ever have any luck with getting it out and then getting a new one back in?
i ended up beating it with a hammer and screwdriver. lucky enough i didnt scratch anything up. as soon as i got it to move a little it basically fell out. the new one went in with a mallet and i havent seen it leak a drop.
