Good luck getting them to pay anything. I bet if you go look again, there is something somewhere before you go into the car was that says "not responsible for damage".

i went back last night and their is a sign that says like fold your mirrors in and some other stuff but its unreadable from more than .5 inches away im so pissed. my birthday just went buy and i really dont want to use my money to fix something that shouldn't be broken
Yeah pressure washer ripped the paint off my front bumper. So I ripped them off. Last time I was up there, the machine ate my loonies so pulled the "squeeze pressure" sign for the gun off the wall and put it in my back window.

I once had a nice, long scratch that went down the entire passenger side of my Explorer. Luckily, it was a light surface scratch that I was able to rub out with some scratch remover. It's one more reason I always wash my cars myself. I will never go to another car wash again.

They will not pay since it's an aftermarket part...I don't think most places will pay even if it's a factory part. I have seen lots of SUVs with broken off rear wipers from car washes.

Mostly likely, they will not pay for the damages. Its one of those things that go along with "use at your own risk" type deals. I use to go through a car wash until I installed a 4ft cb antenna. Now I only power wash the under carriage when I've been driving around on salted roads in the winter. All else, I wash it at home.

I worked at a Car Wash my first couple of years in college and they will refuse to fix it. If you complain enough they might give you some free car wash coupons, but I would be sure to tell them exactly where they can put them :pissedoff:

I've had a few incidents with the automatic car washes...so I simply go to the spray booths and do it myself...
One time the machine ripped off my front license plate...and then I couldn't find the mounting hardware so I just stuck it on my dash...ended up getting a ticket for no front plate...and the cop had the nerve to say I took it off because he thought I thought it looked cool...WTF?

is it broken, or did it just pull the mounting hardware out of the truck? if its just been pulled out, it shouldnt be to difficult or time consuming to fix.

I thought everyone knew you cant take the cars into a car wash with a sunvisor unless it brushless..... I have one on my expe and Ive never gone into a brushed wash. only the do it yourself brushless. Maybe if your real nice they will help you out. Or maybe if your really mean LOL

I actually work at a car wash and we have multiple signs up that say we aren't responsible for aftermarket parts. At all. We won't pay for a thing.
We also usually turn cars away that have paint flaking, excessive rust or a telescopic antenna that won't go down. We get people almost every week that complain about the wash doing something, which is completely stupid.
We've had huge trucks that have come off the track and gone sideways and there was no damage. Yet someone in a neglected 1990 Metro will come in and claim that our brushes put a dent in the side of their car.

They will not pay. I had a brushless go nuts and rake down the full length of my new truck back in 2000. The sprayer nozzles gouged into the paint at the tail light and went all the way to the headlight and even creased the metal. Had to file it on my ins. cause the wash is not liable for any accidents. I had that truck for like 2 weeks when it happened.

good luck. I took my Chevy HD to a car wash but i ALWAYS get a hand wash so i dont run into problems like that plus im too tall for alot of place, let alone too wide. But thats not always the safe route. I took my truck to a car wash place by my GFs house and said plain as day "HAND WASH", the guy even wrote it as that. well i see them bring the truck up by the track and they start washing. Next thing i know i see the truck starting to go through the auto wash! i run over to the manager and yell at him to shut it off as i know my truck is too tall! he says he cant. I said bull ****in shit! (exact words lol) Unless you wanna pay big bucks to fix it! so he says he cant i and i gotta watch my truck run though and pray it will fit. Well when it made it though all that happened was the On-Star antenna broke. I bring it in to him and he comps my wash. I said "cool now how about my antenna?" He said " Well i jsut comped you the wash, ain that enough?" I said "Hell no it aint! your gunna replace this thing." He said "ok ill call you monday when the dealers open, you can trust me." yeah bull i thought, so i said "No i want it in writing that you will call me monday and get me a new antenna cause i aint buy one if its mroe than the dman car wash". He said "well i dont have any paper to write on" I said "Well go grab a sheet out of the printer that is RIGHT behind you and write on that Mr. Manager!". So he does and what do ya know, he replaced it for me but damn, talk about trying to get out of it. My truck is my baby and any jackass that hurts it will get an ear full and maybe a fist full if it comes to it :D
Holy crap, quite a story haha
I always wash my truck with the low pressure garden hose at home now. I use the wash mitt with a bucket and some soap concentrate. It's free plus it gets more of the fine dust off. Win/win just a little more elbow grease!

I usually use my dad's Hotsy, for a quicky in the wintertime I go thru the touchless only. Nothing is going to touch my truck but water and soap.

well two of the screws just ripped out of the metal but the other 6 either broke through the fiberglass or took a chunk of it with it the visor is not fixable with my knowlage on fiberglass (none) if their is an easy way to fix it let me know if not i guess i gotta either live with out it or shovel up the money for a new one and to paint it.:bawling:

We used to own brushed car washes way back. Our employees would run drunks, open convertibles, all kinds of things thru. The only time we paid for anything was when a garden hose got away from them, wrapped around the overhead brush and the brass nozzle beat the @#$%! down the length of the car.
God I don't miss those days.

+1 Did you just get that visor and not know you can't take it through an auto carwash with brushes? That's the first thing I would have thought of when entering the wash. OH NO, I HAVE A SUNVISOR! THIS IS BAD! Those brushes are very hard on vehicles; I think my antenna is going to break off every time. Good luck fixing it man. It may be cheaper to tint the top of your windshield if the sun is your only concern. From the sound of it though, you like the looks of the visor.

I went through one a short while back to wash the salt off of the sides and undercarriage. The dude went to wash the windshield with the pressure nozzle and I watched a 3 inch crack grow till it stopped half way up my window. Then as I had to sit in there and go through the wash, I watched it grow the rest of the way up the window before stopping about an inch from the edge. The worst part about it being cracked that far, besides the crack, is it's right in my field of view in front of me.

no the visor was on the truck when i bought it 6 years ago and i have gone through a brush car wash before and nothing happened. it also came with tint on the top of the windshield and i thought that would be enough but i never realized how much sun the visor really blocked now im squinting all the time. but ya i really liked the way it looked im gonna buy a new one now it was one from lund too.:bawling:

So when are you going to return MY sign? ASS! Why did you not call and get a refund?
Instead with your anger, and WITHOUT your BRAIN you ripped down a sign, good job! Most places will give you a refund if you loose your money.:annoyed:
