trans issues

hello, im new to the forums, searched and didnt find what i was looking for so plz dont flame me. i've got an 86 ranger 2.9 2wd with a sick trans. i also have an 88 bronco 2 4wd with a good trans. what would consist of swapping trans from bronco 2 to ranger. can i just swap the tail housing or is this even possible. thanks for any help.

Wait on other people to answer this thread, but, I'm bored and just want to say that I don't think you can put a four wheel drive transmission into a two wheel drive vehicle (or vise versa). Four wheel drives have a transfer case and an extra drive shaft going forward to the front axle. Like I said, wait for others, but I've never heard of this kind of swap being done.
