I'm sure many of you who have run 33's on your ranger have had some minor tire/radius arm rub. today was the first time in the past 9 years that my truck would not pass inspection based on that. frustrating.

I know in BC, you have to have atleast an inch of clearance from your tire to fenders/suspension componnents throughout out the turning range.

Seems like a reasonable rule.

I understand the reasoning behind it, but my radius arms have round enough edges that no damage is caused to the tire and the only damage to the radius arm is loss of paint. that doesn't mean they should make an exception for me, but I would enjoy it if they would. at least it would save me the work of throwing the 215s that I have back on. a little consistency from year to year would be nice as well.

They aren't worried about you damaging your tires. They are worried about you reducing the ability to maneuver the vehicle. OK, they may care about your tires a little.

You're lucky enough that they even allow 33's without giving you a ticket. Some states require you to have the correct size tire that came with the vehicle. Luckily for me, Oklahoma did away all vehicle inspections. Thou on some days, I wish they didn't.

yeah that wouldn't be ideal, but like I said nothing has changed on my truck (lift, wheel and tire size) in the past 9 years. so i'm just venting because they are having issues with it now.

I hear you its nice not having to mess with it, but there are some real beaters out there. Some real idiots that don't keep their cars safe at all..

Put the little tires on, get it inspected, and then put the big ones back on. Fix the problem as you get the time/money.
