03 into 89 Trany swap

Dumb question from a newby
I found a 03 fx4 donor truck that had been rolled.
Will a trany from an 03 Ranger 4.0 FX4 swap into my 89 2.9 4X4?
the 03 has a BW 13 54 tc but I couldn't find an ID on the Trany.
Would the whole engine and trany be a better choice?

it wont bolt right up to the engine. IMO....swap in the 4.0L and the trans!

any info on the wrecked truck? pics?
 
the trans itself will bolt up. 2.9, and 4.0 share the same bellhouse patterns.

Parts are flying off of it fast cause it is at the weckers.
I'll have to see if there is any left.
