Trailer hitch covers.
What do you people use or have for hitch over? I saw
some nice FORD logo ones in a store they attached to
the wire harness and acted as a brake light.
A Friend was telling me not to worry about it, it well
only end up getting stuck in there or stolen if you
don’t have a locking pin. I would think that having a
locking pin would kinda be stupid leaving it on there
all the time, with all the road dirt / salt and having
a key hole hanging from the bottom of the truck would
just be asking for trouble.
“get the torch out boys, I can’t get my key in the
lock”
I just leave the ball and mount thing in there, that way if I need it, it's ready. But I have seen the brake light FORD things, they're pretty cool.

Can you get it out? My dad's is stuck, I have tried everything to get it out.
I just wonder if that would happen to the hitch cover, or like I said the locking pin

as long as it is taken out regularly and isnt left for a whole winter or something, then you will be fine.
for your dads hitch or hitch cover, use a torch, propane might not get hot enough, mapp or OA would probably do it, to heat up the reciever tube and hopefully loosen it up.
if that doesnt work, take a chain, wrap it around the head of a sledge hammer, the other end around the hitch insert, and start swinging.
if that doesnt work, find a tree or some other immovable object, chain the insert to that, and drive away.
if that doesnt work, get a new hitch.
good luck

when i dont have the mount in there (and sometimes i have a pintle hook, keeps me from getting a buick up against my bumper at china-mart) i have a piece of pipe sideways , like a step bar. you can buy them, i just made my own one day out of scrap at work, latly ive had my mount in the receiver all the time, i keep the lock and pin well greased, dont want to chance not locking it, people will steal anything anytime

The only thing I leave in my hitch is a reciever piece with a circle in it for a D-ring. I wouldn't buy a hitch cover or anything like that, I'd end up busting it.....

I use what looks like a T-bar in the hitch, it hangs down and prevents small cars from going under the truck. When I go off road I turn it round and it works as a hook for pulling guys out or standing on.

I have a locking pin in my F-250 hitch.. Mainly because there is a $180 dollar pintle in it. I have used it for at least 3 years and never had it seaze up.
The lock is on the side of the pin, and it has a rubber cover that fits onto a lip. Believe me nothing gets in there. Plus they are not that expensive. Cheap Insurance.
