air intake

yesterday i put an air intake kit on my truck. but i am just wondering is it supposed to sound like an exhaust?? after i put it on it just has a loud low pitch sound which resembles an exhaust sound would be.
 
Thats sbout all you get out of them
 
is it a full cold air intake?
who makes it?
alot of them do sound like that
 
its a spectre intake.
so does having the intake put on help mileage at all?
 
Hot air intakes don't add anything in the way of performance or mileage, just noise.
 
well generally cold air intakes actaully do not give cold air its still hot air going into the engine(which is why you see intakes wrapped it helps cool the air) so like mikeinidaho said its pretty much a hot air intake which isnt doing anything
 
i was looking at putting in a afe magnum force stage 1 cold air intake but cant find a ram air scoop not the whole hood is anyone using this if so give me some feed back thanks

Well i put an air intake from Kurtz Kustomz, and my truck is a heck of a lot more responsive on the throttle, but outside of that its gets pretty frickin noisy(can really hear the air getting sucked in) after 2,000 rpm, mileage-- no difference. But i really like the response i got it from it!
