does anyone know how to bypass the the dvd player on a pioneer avh-p4100 so you dont have to have the e-brake on to watch it???

lol sounds safe, im sure if its a one wire connection all you would have to do is connect that wire to ground because the switch thats on most e-brakes just connects to ground once its closed so try that disconnect the wire with it on the touch something thats grounded like the frame. any body else?

that's pretty much what i had done on mine. I just ran the wire to a ground and put a small push button switch between the ground and headunit. when your driving and put a video on, it throws up the error message, hit the button, then hit ok and the video plays.

that wire eather needs to be grounded or 12v, makes are different, try grounding it first, then give it 12v

what good would an in car dvd player be if you cant use it while driving. I'm not saying i'd watch a movie while driving but the passengers might want to. It's implying your only going to use it when waiting in the car parked so either your sitting in your driveway or your camping out inside the truck. Both sound terrible to me.

I have the AVP-H4000. I haven't hooked up the parking brake wire yet, but in my old Mazda3, all I had to do it wire it to ground. No 12v needed.

both sound terrible to me, but to the legal department at the manufacturer of the DVD player, it sounds pretty good. This way, if you crash, it's much harder to put the liability on them in a lawsuit. Not only have they told you not to do it, but you actually have to go to the effort of bypassing the parking brake switch to get around it.

If I ever get one...I'll be bypassing that crap.
