i tried hookin up my ipod to my new pioneer double din avh-p4100 through the usb cable, it seems not to be recognizing it or even charging it. does anyone know if this is due to it being an ipod touch???

it has to do with ipods being gay!

Clearly you believe your sexuality involves your electronics as well. Either have something useful to add to a thread or go hang out somewhere else. Your useless banter helps noone. If you have a problem here, PM me.

i myself am not a fan of ipod and it requiring special hardware/cables.

It seams like they do it just so they can make extra money off them.

not trying to be rude or offend, just helping keeping the thread moving and keeping it up on the top posts so others can see it and help with there suggestions.

dont want to here it lol, just here to help.

usb cables can be tricky, you may have to set your HU to statt looking for it, it may not be automatic like on your computer, the simplest, cheepest way to connect your ipod, is to use the a male/male head phone jack, but you cant control the i pod from the head unit, other cables you can but they can get $$$, and idk if the touch has anything to do with it.

i do know that to work an iphone on a usb device in a car stereo you have to turn it to 'airplane mode'

maybe u have to change some settings on the touch as well.

thanks guys but i got it working just an unplugged cable
