I have a 1994 ranger 4.0 automatic 4x4. It runs fine when cold. After running it about 10 minutes and it gets up to opperating temp, it developes a miss. I have found that when you remove plug wires from the coil pack, there is no change when removing the rear wire on the right side. There is good spark jumping to the wire. I believe this is my bad cylinder. I next removed the injector wire from this cylinder and there was no change. Could an injector fail when hot? Am I looking in the right direction?

I must have everyone stumped...no replies

hmm having you tried pulling the codes and seeing if that brings any clues up?

It does sound like something is wrong in that cylinder though. I would switch the plug wire to another cylinder and see if you get the same problem also do the same thing with the injector. If you move one to another cylinder and the problem follows thats probably your problem. :icon_thumby:

I think there was a post around here that said something about those coil packs if they crack on the corner they stop working right.

I will try switching the wire and injector. I will let you know what happens.
