add 2nd battery

i was looking into adding a 2nd battery in my truck, but i didnt want to put in the cab. i would like to put in under the hood. any ideas? i have a 2002 ranger xlt super cab 4x4 offroad.

you can put the battery wherever it'll fit. i dont think there is room under the hood for a second battery without modifying a few things.

well i use my truck for the search and rescue also with the fire department. im about to put some heavy duty kc lights on it. so i can light up the sence so i can see at night if we get a call. two battery less time more volts less time i have run my engine on sence.

With this kit you can seperate the 2 batteries and only use one at a time or both if needed. Also if you want a good battery and have a little money to spend I would get the optima yellow top battery and run the lights off that.

yeah i have a battery isolater. i was hope maybe somebody had done a battery relocation or add a 2nd battery. just trying to get some idea to find out where i can put it out of the way. the purple to exide extreme has more cold crank and more aph. they cost about $200 a pop, but if u get u will know where that money went.

im about to do one shortly. Im putting my battery inside the cab tho behind my seat. I got enough room under the hood to put it somewere but my reason for putting it inside the cab is because its less cables I have to run everywere. Plus I plan on running my radio, subs, amp, ps2, inverter off the 2nd battery and leave the main battery for starting, headlights, e fan only. All accessories off the 2nd battery.

thats cool i have built a gun box in the back seat area one so i can have my guns in the inside when i go hunting and two it double as a solid patform for my black lab to lay on, on the way to the duck woods, or to a seach and rescue call.
