i have a 86 ford ranger with an auto trans A4LD. when it goes into o/d it keeps slipping in and out of gear, what is wrong. new trans fluid and filter. what can be causing this?

Possibly be a bad band or servo for starters.

what about if i put LUCAS in the transmissions, do you think that will help it some?

Lucas crap is just a band aid... Fix the problem...

i was under the truck the other day, and noticed the plug for the t/c lock up switch has been sliced mine use to be a 2 wire plug and the one that is on the transmission is a three plug. I just had the trans replaced with a used one and had it put in at a mech shop. can it be spiced i have an 86 2.9 with an a4ld, and the donor vehicle was a 94 explorer.
