2.9L A4LD to M5OD starter?

I just got back from picking up all the parts I need to do the swap from the crap A4LD to a 92 4.0L M5OD and was wondering if the starter from the auto will work? also how do I wire the plugs for the auto? Just hook them together at least the neutral saftey at least? Thanks guys

Depends on what clutch you're using. If you are running a 2.9 with a 2.9 clutch, (I would upgrade to a 4.0 clutch) you can use your 2.9/auto starter with the auto blockplate. The 4.0/m5od blockplate has a slightly larger hole for the starter.

If you do upgrade to a 4.0 flywheel/clutch, then you WILL need the manual starter to go with it......
