Chains, not belts.

Chain and interference. Also, if it is like the Focus 2.3, you cannot safely remove the crank pulley. It has no keyway, and will turn when the bolt is removed screwing up ignition and cam timing. If it turns too far, valves and pistons meet with disasterous results.
