I just put my new 265/75R16's on today...I was reading in the tech that it recommends 4.56's. I have a Open 7.5 with 3.73's. Is it absolutely necessary to upgrade to the 4.56's, or just recommended?

No it's not totally necessary, but your acceleration and gas mileage with be affected.

It's recommended, You will lose some performance and fuel economy. It depends on what you expect, many guys are running similar combinations.

They were a pain in the a$$ to mount on my rims. They didn't wanna seat the bead. lol. I've already noticed my acceleration has gone out the window, but I didn't have much to begin with. I was just wondering if it was worthwhile for the long run.

You might find out you get better mileage running in 4th instead of 5th, they say the 3.0's like rpm's

Well either way you go I've got a set of 4.56's for your front end new in box if you decide to gear down.

It's just areccomendation, I'm running 3.73 with that same tire size (4.0 though) and I don't mind it. The acceleration is a bit slow and I rarely get into 5th gear anymore.

With the 3.0 you'll probably want to, but it's all up to what you prefer and what you're willing to drive...

I'm running an auto tranny...and maybe if you had 4.56's for the rear i'd jump. lol

Keep looking on here they are not all that uncommon to find for sale.
