Well the Ranger started acting up trying to drag one tire around turns like it had a spool in the back. So I drove it home and pulled the diff cover off to find out the spider gears are toast, metal all over inside, just a great way to start my morning,:thefinger: lol. Well just thought id let you all know, now its parked until i either get the Dana44 or just throw a set of spiders in it for temp. So if anyone has any spider gears for a 7.5 laying around let mw know. And im not sure if it makes a difference in them but it has a LS. Thanks guys.:icon_cheers:

Hell, you know, I just might have my old spiders, I may take a look when I get home...

ive got some. PM me if you want them.

Ok, why on earth would you want a Dana44 in the back of your ranger?

a D44 is only very SLIGHTLY stronger than a 7.5" ford.

an 8.8" OTOH is significantly stronger (yes, even the 28-spline 8.8")

Because im doing Waggy 44s front and rear. And I want 6 lug. But anyways, Allen I know you know alot about these things, is the spiders the same in an open carrier as in a LS?

The Spiders pinions? Yes, a 7.5" spider is the same either way, provided it isn't one of those goofy 7tooth ones out of an EARLY "cone type" Borg-Warner limited slip, those are actually different

The AXLE pinions OTOH are VERY different.

I suppose if you really want 6-lug wheels along with your SAS,
that's one way to do it...
