Keyless remote

I have a 1995 Ranger XLT I just bought. It has keyless entry feature. The key fob is in working order. But the feature will not work. The history of the car is unknown to me or the previous owner. Is there a "reset procedure" that I can attempt? Any advice would be appreciated.
 
Aftermarket system, right?
 
Actually it is a factory installed unit. I nned to get the procedures for resetting the system to work. My key fob is working. I checked it on a tester. The procedure is a 1/2 hour job at a dealer and I want to avoid paying that. The procedure can be found online but the website wants 7.00 for sending the instructions in an email. I was hoping someone knew the procedure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
