hey i was wondering ,im not afraid of some fabrication, but before i go wasting my time has anyone ever tried altering factory a arms on a later model ranger for a drop. instead of spending a small fortune on a arms. if im thinking right the coil would be dropped down in the lower arm and the upper arm would have to be longer correct? i would never drive anything on the road that i thought might break but looking at the arms on my truck i think it could be done safely. thinking of going to the junk yard buying some arms and trying it just wondering if anyone else had?

i dont like buying shit i like to make it myself even if it takes forever i like to say i done it myself not ordered out of a magazine.

Many kinds of custom a-arms have been made before. Custom racing and off-road arms are commonly made from high-strength carbon tubular steel. As for modifying the stock arms, I have not seen them personally except in some pics of modified trucks for air bags or hydraulics. So it can be done, just not sure how.

Good Luck though and let us see some pics when and if you do this.
