When I pull the engine running codes the first code that says how many cylinders it has it comes up with 4. Any ideas?

yeah ive had some code readers do that before, maybe you should change the battery in the code reader if there old, otherwise check to make sure that everything in your truck is ground right and that your AC, radio, and all lights are turned off, this should help.
