it just wont get to the middle it warms up if i put cardbord infront of the rad or stop the fan but other than that nada :bawling: i just got a new 198 thermostat and that didnt help:icon_twisted::icon_confused:

If you mean the gauge dosen't reach the mid point of its travel maybe the sender or gauge is bad. Have you taken the water temp directly?

Does it put out good heath through the vents?

Fan clutch seize up?

What is the temp where you're at? Do you have the proper coolant/water mixture??

does the new thermostat have a bleeder?

on the thermostat itself? i bought the "better" thermostat for mine 4.0 and the engine wouldn't warm up and burp. if the one you put in doesn't have a ball bearing or the torpedo bleeder you won't get good heat and the thermostat won't open and circulate coolant. i just did this a month ago. 2 thermostats in 2 days. my '97 only has 45k on it.

haven't done a mechanical temp check yet. could be the sending unit but i doubt. it has a proper mix. new thermostat has pin hole. fan is not sized i can stop it. id deff gives good heat through the vents

My brother's 93 runs cool too. Just replaced the thermostat. Gauge is now reading slightly higher, but still on the low side in my opinion.

its wird beacuse i always hear of them overheating

My 4.0 runs cool too... Only gets to the N or Normal (haven't had the time to get real guages yet)... The heat kicks butt though, so I'm thinking it might be the sending unit...
