I have a 1988 Ford Ranger 4X4 Auto I would like to put a 2.3l Turbo 5spd and keep the 4X4 also when I swap the manual in will I have to cut my flooring or will it use the same hole in the floor because I have just replaced the carpet and it would suck to have to do it again. Also I have a 7.5 rear but I have already installed a Posi out of a SVO and I have an 8.8 inch rear out of a newer explorer will the 7.5 work or should i swap in the 8.8 also with the turbo what exhaust system will work the best I have 2.5 inch pipe from the cat back and a flowmaster 40 series Muffler will that work or should I look for something else.

Dunno about the hole.

The 7.5 will be fine. My 7.5 has put up with a lot of abuse, I am just going 8.8 for the limited slip and extra strength when running slicks.

Flowmasters are not what you want on a turbo motor. Get something straight thru like a magnaflow.

if you keep the engine stock, the 7.5 is probably fine, I'm replacing mine with an 8.8 for the bigger brakes and strength... and the LS...

about the tranny, there's a plate in the floor, replace that with the appropriate plate from what you get the tranny from and it should be fine, you'll have to put a hole in the carpet though...

I haven't wheeled my truck with the turbo yet, but will hopefully be doing that in the beginning of next month
