Hello,

I just helped my son get his first loan, used to buy his Deep Galaxy Blue 2002 Mazda B3000 4x4, manual transmission with an extended cab (2 jump seats on the sides). I'm here to help him get more info, as he seems to be slow in registering himself for forums like this. I've been on many forums for cars I own (or owned) and know well the benefits of finding others who share info with fellow owners.

His truck has 63,000 miles on it, a certified one-owner gem previously owned by a nearby city cop. Bought from a Mazda dealer who took it in trade, and always serviced by them. It seems well equipped with power windows, locks, mirrors, tilt, cruise, electrochromic rearview mirror with temp & compass, and a really crappy stock stereo system.

Our first project was to get the failed state (MA) inspection items fixed, so it's got a new haedlight housing and windshield. Next was the stereo. We replaced the stock speakers with (4) Infinity Kappa 6822.9's, and the head unit is now a Kenwood KDC-BT742U. I'll be in the Audio section now looking for a single 10 or 12 inch sub & underseat sub amp.

That's all for now, nice to be here.

Thanks. We'll look at all our options, but given the Kappa speakers, we'll probably want something more in line with that build level. I suppose I should see & hear some Kickers before passing judgment, but what we both want is clean, well-defined bass notes, not just thundering volume or cool-looking cones.
