hey guys im pullin my 2.9 out of my bronco II but i not sure what to do with the exhaust manifolds any suggestions

There's a good chance you'll break at least a couple of the bolts on the manifolds. If this motor is going back in, I'd try to soak them ahead of time with something or maybe leave them attached and unbolt the collectors.

what do you mean by "not sure what to do with the exhaust manifolds?"
i think i get what you are saying and i would pull them off before you lift out the engine. the more stuff you can take off of the engine the easier it is going to be to take out.

if your worried about getting the bolts out heat is going to be your best friend.. i took my buddies collector bolts out last year on his 87 and they came right out. just make sure its cherry red before trying to move it.

how did you guys get ur driver side bolts out im havin trouble since the steering thing is right there

Socket + U-joint + 20" extension bar + breaker bar + 3' cheater pipe + heat. Laid on my back under the truck, threaded that mess up in place, heated from above and undid it.

When that method failed me (because I didn't have good access with a hot enough torch), I threaded a sawzall in through the wheelwell and cut the bolt in half. Then once the motor was out on the ground applied heat and used a pair of vice grips.
