why did you move the axle that far forward?
PaleBlue90
10-21-2007, 11:57 PM
if i didnt move it forward the transmission crossmember would be in the way, so i had to move it forward so i could weld my spring hanger to the frame

what front springs are those? why no SOA? because of steering? that steering labeled picture looks like cross over steering but not high steer???? looks good. i am following this with interest.

I think Mike kept hte original spring under axle set up to keep the potential of the springs when flexing out. Or something like that. We talked about it when we were up in Bailey a few weeks ago.

correctamundo adam, the steering is crossover, im gonna stick to the stock ranger steering box, and im gonna try and still use the stock pitmen arm. no tcase yet beacuse of my crap hole of a job, (they wont pay me enough so im looking elseware) i will have a tcase and stuff soon......i hope

it doesnt make sense to me though. because that setup drasticly limits both droop and compression of the suspention. what do you mean by potential?

i read in a JP mag issue, they said that spring under is the best way to go. it allows more travel and flex. right now its not very flexy as the srpings are brand new.

SHES BACK! ill be getting parts ordered in a few days, im gonna get a locker in the rear and have been looking at a lock-rite. good?

if you put a 8.8 in the rear get a mini spool and dont waste your money on a lock-right. if you have a 7.5 weld it. lockrights are the best ones for these trucks but if you are going to be wheeling it most of the time you will wish you welded it or put a spool in.

well its gonna be a mix of dd/wheeling. it has a 28 spline 8.8, but ill get a 31 spline kit when i get a rear locker. idk if i want a lock-right for shure yet. maybe ill just pony up for another OX lol (i think they make one)
