I should drag my chit up there on Sunday. It's only about 1.5 hours from me.... Let me check my schedule, but I've been itching to head back up there.

That's the weekend after I plan to do my SAS. We'll see how it comes out, I may able to make it up there on Sunday as well.

If I can get Wirsch to go, maybe we can all convoy up together.

Bray D

Sounds like a plan to me, assuming there's no major problems with my SAS

I think Wirsch is interested, but it sounds like he'd rather play in the mud than do any real wheeling :thefinger:

haha yeah, I saw where he posted that on Midwestern. I'm sure he could find plenty of mud at The Cliffs if he decides to go.

I'll check my schedule. That is the weekend we change shifts here at the prison. So for now it's up in the air for me.

See how the weather is, should be able to make it. I'll be wheelin' a bone stock Toyota on my LTB's, but its nothing a little skinny pedal can't fix.

I'm going to try to make that mud run this weekend if the weather isn't crappy, but it doesn't sound too good.

Mud is one of the reasons my buddy wants to go to the cliffs that time of year. Personally, I hate cleaning up after mud, but its still fun.

I hope all of you guys can make it up, would really like to meet you all.

I have to get the cage put into Burnside's BII before he'll go, but if we get that done, we're ready to rock.

No chance that I could persuade you to come down on Saturday the 28th, is there? Sunday is kind of a wierd day to start a wheeling trip.

I'm up for Saturday or Sunday, pending SAS completion of course. Probably starting on Sunday cause that starts the week of his spring break - just a guess.

97BlackBetty
03-12-2009, 01:28 PM
Alright, we will be there Saturday as well. We are going to talk a little later to figure out the time we will be there on Saturday, but I will be sure to let you all know.

JohnnyU

Ah, spring break. I forgot about that. I'd be more inclined to come up Saturday in case anything were to happen...

Well, with the way its looking I plan to be on the trails at The Cliffs around noon on Saturday the 28th. That means I need to be on the road by 6:30-7 am that morning. That sucks. Oh well, it will be worth.

Bray D
03-12-2009, 09:11 PM
Yeah that's probably a good idea. Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

I'm planning on being there with the 'Yota. It will be a blast with everyone finally getting all their rigs together.

Well if I were coming from Gurnee Il (Home), where all of my buddies are coming from its only an hour and a half. Coming from Northern Michigan (school), kind of sucks. I will actually be at GVSU friday night chillen with my little sister.

Bray D, you have a PM.

That does in fact suck lol.

I still have to ok it by "the boss", but I'm looking forward to making the trip up there again.

I probably won't have sliders on the truck yet though...:dunno:

Well, I have the go-ahead, she might accompany me up there for the day.

Bray, you bringing the ol' lady along with?

Still working on getting my Ex rolling, hopefully will be done by then. If not, someone have an open seat?

I'm not sure. Probably depends on the weather. If its not raining or terribly cold I plan to rock the tube doors for the whole trip (road driving and all). I dunno if she'd be up for that. We'll see as we get closer to the trip.

If not, you can always throw the reg doors on my trailer or in my black truck's bed during the day. :icon_thumby:

I've been looking at this. I'm not going to make it though. It looks like I'm going to be headed for Columbus Ohio to inherit JustDave's old truck frame/body that weekend.

Have you guys reviewed Attica's rules since it changed ownership?

97BlackBetty
03-17-2009, 10:14 PM
Yea I have taken a look at Atticas rules, I just looked again, they are a little more strict than some of the local parks I have been to. Theres nothing there that I can see that isnt common sense and simple rules except for the Insurance Rule, since my vehicle is a DD it has insurance. I wonder how that works out for the trailer queens, I know one of the local parks requires insurance on vehicles but it specifies that the tow rigs insurance suffices.

That's the part I was wondering about. I took the insurance off of my B2 last year. Be worth it to call them and clarify.

I would like to try and make it to this. I am quick throwing a roll bar into the bronco II for peace of mind. :headbang:

I just got off the phone with The Badlands. They do require insurance on the vehicle that is being used in the park. What she told me is that they do not check to make sure you have insurance, they just simply ask that you check the box on the Release of Liability waiver that states you have insurance.

It was kind of a wink, wink, type discussion. I would check with your insurance provider to see if there is anything you can do to have bare minimum coverage on the vehicle. Other wise, dont hit anybody when you are in the park, the park is treated the same way as driving on the road when an accident occurs.

I'm going to go ahead and back out of this trip now rather than last minute. A couple things came up with the swap and it seems completion time is going to be pushed back. I don't think it'd be wise to finish the swap then take off on a wheelin trip without having all the bugs worked out.

I'm sure you guys will have a good time, be sure to take a bunch of pics :icon_thumby:

I'm probably going to back out too. Supposed to unpost roads this weekend, might be pulling seed corn around all weekend. Gotta go where the money is...

I have to do some work after this weekend, I tore up the exhaust pretty good, fried the starter and either there's mud in the alternator or that needs to be replaced too. Luckily, the starter and alternator are under warranty at Advance.

I have to get this stuff done and I'll try to be there. I'm hoping Burnside (and me too) can figure out his hard-starting issue, otherwise he's out too. Things are too complicated anymore....:dunno:

Very interesting. Now, how do I broach this topic with my insurance agent? Heh.

03-26-2009, 09:21 PM
Will, I talked with my insurance agent (AAA), I explained the situation to him. What he told me is that he could insure the vehicle as a recreational vehicle, and we would base the price on the length of time I wanted it insured. What he was saying is that he would work it similar to a travel trailer, where it would be insured when its being used, and then the coverage could be changed to storage or nothing, whichever I would prefer. He also told me that if I wanted it covered for less than 24 hours, like a day playing at the Badlands, he would place it under my normal policy as limited liability at no additional cost, similar to rental insurance.

On another note, at this moment my buddies and I are still planning on going. However, the forecast for the weekend is not looking to great, cold and rain on Saturday, and cold and windy on Sunday. We are going to play the weather game, but if its pooring cats and dogs while I am headed south on Saturday morning we may decide to cancel for the weekend and postpone till next. I will be sure to keep you all updated with our plans.

They are also talking snow around this area, doesn't sound pretty at all.

I wouldn't be able to make it down anyway---pretty sure I bent an axle on my trailer this weekend.

We have decided to pull the plug on this weekend. If we get whats forcasted I will probably be plowing anyways. If the weather gets nicer towards the end of the week we are planning on heading down to The Badlands.
