I just bought a 2000 4x4 ranger. I have a 92 . I know there are a lot of differences. I don't have much experince with the new ones. How do they compare in overall strength and durability ?I have a plow on the 92 and it works fine. Don't know if the new one is beefy enough to handle one?

The front end on the newer ones is not as strong. In the owners manual Ford advises against using a Ranger to plow. The halfshafts and CV's are kinda flimsy for that. I wouldn't go bigger than a 5' blade and not do anything bigger than driveways with it.

My 99 did just fine plowing with a 7' curtis, doing a small lot 12 drives and one larger lot. Just add timbrens and plow with the strom youll be fine.

you lost me with timbrens & strom ? thanks

Got the timbrens. thanks

the half shafts are not the problem. the hubs, ball joints, and inner tie rod ends are. plowing will cause these already high-wear items to wear even faster. the R&P on your newer truck is also weaker than your '92.
