i have an 84 ford ranger 4x4 either 2.0L or 2.3L dont know just bought to rebuild for off-road for 250 bucks lol. the slave cylinder is external thank god. only problem im having is there is a leak where the hose connects to slave cylinder. i put in a new o-ring and put the pin that holds the hose in place and when i push the clutch in to blead it it leaks out around the hose. i didnt have that problem with the old slave and the hose is in good shape. please help before i push the SOB into my pond.

I have had problems with these in the past

We were working on a 83 (Tuff Truck) with a manual trans. Same problem you are having the Slave Cylinder was leaking at the hose. I would try to pull the hose again ensure there is nothing in the hole where the hose connects also check the o-ring (sorry cant remember if the oring is built onto the hose or seperate). Can you use a bigger o-ring, I dont know. Also try a different clutch system (Slave and or Master) from a junk yard or just the hose. I just did a quick search and found severl sites selling new and used clutch system parts with a wide range of prices.

I wish I could have given you the perfect answer. In the end we ended up getting a whole different used master and slave cylinder for the Tuff Truck.
